STEP Vidy, Lausanne – New Administrative Building for Epura SA
Epura SA, a corporation wholly owned by the City of Lausanne, is launching an open architecture and engineering competition for a new administrative building on the Vidy wastewater treatment plant site. The project aims to consolidate staff from the city's water services department — responsible for drinking water supply and wastewater treatment across Lausanne and 19 surrounding municipalities — currently dispersed across several locations.
The site lies at the southwestern edge of the city, where the Bourget Park and the shores of Lake Geneva give way to a largely undeveloped plain. Plot 4204 is bordered to the north by the Lausanne–Geneva motorway and to the south by the historic Bourget Park, designed in 1959. A feasibility study confirms that the available land is sufficient for the new building without compromising future expansion of the treatment facilities.

Der Entwurf des neuen Stadions integriert sich harmonisch in die umgebende Landschaft und Topografie. Die Gebäudegeometrie greift die charakteristische Flächigkeit des Sportparks und des Mauerparks auf und überführt sie in ein zeitgemäßes, barrierefreies Konzept. Der historische Kontext bleibt für die Nutzer erlebbar. Der zentrale Boulevard verbindet das Stadion mit den Sportpark-Gebäuden und schafft eine attraktive Begegnungs- und Aktivitätszone. Das asymmetrische Stadionvolumen öffnet sich zum Boulevard hin, während die Erschließung durch zwei Rampen entlang des Trümmerhügels eine uneingeschränkt inklusive Zugänglichkeit für alle Nutzer gewährleistet.
