Campus BBZ Weinfelden

The design for the Berufsbildungszentrum Weinfelden combines expansion with reorganisation: two new additions extend wings A and E, providing connected and flexible floor space adaptable to the future needs of the various schools. Consolidated spatial programmes and legible addresses give the campus a clearer overall structure.

Two newly defined outdoor spaces complement the built additions: at wing A, an existing car park along Industriestrasse gives way to a landscaped square; at wing E, a longitudinal building completes the ensemble into a U-shaped courtyard opening towards the central campus square. The forum on Schützenstrasse is flanked by two urban outdoor spaces — a generous terrace announcing the main entrance, and a densely planted outdoor area with large trees beside the assembly hall, enriching Schützenstrasse with a quiet urban niche and improving the local microclimate.
