Hohlstrasse 190/192, Zürich
The design interprets the transitional condition between perimeter block structures and the heterogeneous development north of Hohlstrasse as an opportunity for a differentiated urban response. Three distinct building volumes vary in height and expression, responding to their surroundings and forming a diverse, well-connected ensemble.
A key element is the extension of the commercial alley across the site, creating new spatial relationships and strengthening the identity of the neighborhood. The clear organization into street space, a central circulation zone, and a green rear area structures the site and provides a range of spatial qualities.
The buildings are deliberately oriented toward Hohlstrasse and contribute to the activation of the public realm through ground-floor uses and a variety of housing typologies. The project combines urban precision with architectural diversity, offering a distinctive response to this challenging site.
